2024 Most Powerful Women in Accounting Awards Announced
The awards, presented by the AICPA and CPA Practice Advisor, recognize leaders for their significant contributions to the profession.

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and CPA Practice Advisor have announced the recipients of the ‘Most Powerful Women in Accounting’ awards, now in their 13th year, which recognize leaders for their significant contributions to the profession. The 2024 awards were presented on the main stage at during the AICPA ENGAGE conference at the Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on June 4, 2024.
“Each year, we have the opportunity to recognize women who are making the accounting profession a better place for all of us,” said Gail Perry, CPA, editor-in-chief of CPA Practice Advisor. “This year’s nominees continue to carry this torch of excellence. CPA Practice Advisor is proud to partner with the AICPA to present the Most Powerful Women in Accounting awards.”

Nominated by their peers and selected by a group of independent judges, these women personify leadership, inclusivity, and going above and beyond for the accounting profession. Although some global leaders have appeared on the list, it is largely focused on the U.S. market. For a full list of award criteria, visit the Most Powerful Women in Accounting webpage.
“Amplifying the many diverse voices of the profession is critical,” said Crystal Cooke, the AICPA’s diversity and inclusion director. “Not only does this award provide visibility into the amazing things that women are doing in our profession, it also shows what is possible with hard work and determination. In order for women to believe there is space at the top for them, they need to see it!”
Qualifications for selection for the Most Powerful Women in Accounting Awards, which have been presented annually since 2012, include:
- She has been the driving force to create a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusion. If she is a vendor, she has helped to develop the technologies and solutions that will empower organizations to be more productive and profitable.
- She is one of the top leaders in the accounting profession and her leadership has had a demonstrable effect upon the accomplishments of the organization with which she is associated.
- She is a mentor, sponsor, and a role model, someone who stands out in her ability to encourage and help those around her thrive and flourish.
- The work she does is influential and is having a positive impact on the accounting profession as a whole.

Nominations for the 2024 awards were open to the public on the AICPA and CPA Practice Advisor websites, with final selection of recipients determined by an independent panel of judges. Nominations for 2025 will open in November 2024 at the Women’s Global Leadership Conference.
